Vir’Tue is a Tiefling rogue venturing forth into The Yarning Portal!
I was recently commissioned by an organiser of a Dungeons and Dragons group to design character portraits for each player character of their campaign. I was given in-depth descriptions of each character’s appearance and personality, as well as a photo of each player’s character piece (cute little crochet dolls) as reference.
Vir’Tue was described as the mother figure of the group and considerably short, so I gave her a plump and nurturing shape to her figure.
Traditionally, tiefling horns protrude from their brows, but Vir’Tue’s grew from her head. We experimented with a couple of animal horns and settled on rams. There was also an addition of a tail in the linework stage that I did not realise she had earlier on.
Her colour palette varied a lot. The client felt the bronze/gold armour was too garish for a rogue and so I changed it to silver & teal. We settled on a dark purple for her skin but not too dark.
